I have been to alot of barbershops that I would never take my children to. I've heard obscenity, seen illegal gambling and witnessed a lack of respect for the Lord. So my wife (Ebonique) and I decided to open up Headliners Barbershop on New Years Day 2002, in hopes of having a barbershop not polluted with godlessness and he has blessed the movement ever since.

Our modest shop sits at 729 East Main Street in Trotwood. There's a great newspaper article about Headliners written by Ryan Fox, (Daytondailynews.com) titled "Barbers of Civil".

Believe it or not, one morning I was eating breakfast watching MSNBC and they ran a segment called Headliners and Legends (It was some cheesey segment about celebrities). But just then it hit me, Headliners Barbershop. (kinda of corny huh)? Cool name though. At least I think so.

Actually the name HeadlinersBarbershop.com was already taken. Someone had the name but wasn't doing anything with it. So after frustrating attempts to try and get that name we stopped trying. My wife and I were about minutes away from going with some other name and while still brainstorming, I had remembered that ESPN did a segment about Michael Jordan called Team Jordan.

It is Jordan's Select, Elite group of athletes that model his clothing line. So I thought "Hey that's it!" TeamHeadliners.com! Jordan has his team based on a select, Elite group of athletes, I figure we will have our team based on a select, Elite group of people. Whoever comes to the barbershop to get there hair cut, etc... or logs on to the website will become an official member of Team Headliners.

My wife and I actually have 3 goals. Of course we hope to make money and have a successful business (because that is essential for longevity); But most of all we want to try and help people become closer to GOD. He will take care of everything else.
